'Small child' in Royal Stoke as two-vehicle crash shuts road
A child has been taken to hospital after a two-vehicle crash closed a road. Police shut High Street, in May Bank, for a number of hours following the 7.20am collision.
It involved a tipper Transit van and a white Ford car. 'Slow traffic' is still being reported in the area.
A Staffordshire Police spokesman said: "We were called to May Bank following reports of a collision. The driver of the car, a woman in her 50s, suffered minor injuries. A small child was taken to hospital as a precaution. The driver of the tipper van was checked over by paramedics and discharged. The vehicles were recovered from the scene. Inquiries are continuing."

Two ambulances were sent to the crash scene.
A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesman said: “We were called to reports of a road traffic collision between a car and a van on High Street, May Bank. We sent two ambulances to the scene where, on arrival, we found two patients. One man, the driver of the van, was assessed by crews and discharged at the scene with medical advice. Another patient, a child who was the passenger in the car, was assessed for injuries before being conveyed to the Royal Stoke University Hospital.”
Police are appealing for witnesses following the collision. They should call the police on 101, quoting incident number 90 of September 16.
