The small hint you might have missed about the royal 'feud'

Reports surrounding Meghan Markle and Kate Middleton’s supposed feud have been rife.

From claims of Prince Harry and William rifting over Meghan, to the Duchess of Cambridge having a row over the way her new sister-in-law apparently spoke to members of her staff before the royal wedding in May and Kate bursting into tears after a dress fitting ahead of the nuptial –  the rumour pot is most certainly being stirred.

Signs of this reported rift may have emerged far earlier than any of us initially thought – first noticed by news.com.au – and has slipped under the radar… until now.

Royal family ‘disagreements’

Many will recall earlier this year in February, the ‘royal fab four’ – Harry, Meghan, Kate and William – had their first joint public engagement together at the first ever Royal Foundation Forum, which aims to shed light on mental health issues.

The foursome were asked by an interviewer at the forum what it was like mixing family life and work life.

“Working together as family, do you ever have disagreements about things?” she asked.

In response to the question Harry remained pretty straight-faced, Meghan looked at the floor and giggles to herself, Kate turned to her husband and laughs and William simply replied, “Ooooh yes.”

His little brother jumped into the ring insisting they were “healthy disagreements”, but also joked they come “thick and fast”.

“Is it resolved? We don’t know,” William lightheartedly added.

On a more serious note, Harry explained it was a good thing all of them have “four different personalities” but with the “same passion to want to make a difference”.

Harry then shed further light on his pragmatic attitude toward tensions in the family, admitting that spending so much time together can be challenging.

“Working with family, of course it has its challenges,” Harry added, and jokingly admitted they had no choice in the matter because they were “stuck together for the rest of [their] lives”.

If you’re living and working alongside with your family, adding public scrutiny into that pot too, it’s never going to be smooth sailing. No one’s perfect, not even the royals.

Kate brushes off feud rumours

Just last week, Kate shared her thoughts about the impending arrival of Harry and Meghan’s first child – also subtly appearing to brush off the feud rumours.

The 36-year-old was asked at a public appearance at Leicester University if she was excited about the Duchess of Sussex and her new baby.

“Yes, absolutely, no it’s such a special time to have all kiddies,” Kate replied.

“And a cousin for George and Charlotte as well, and Louis. So it will be really special.”

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex moving to Windsor

The rumours of this supposed rift came around the same time Meghan, 37, and Harry, 34, announced they are moving to Frogmore Cottage, on the Windsor Castle estate.

Until now, the Sussexes have lived in Nottingham Cottage – a two-bedroom house in the grounds of Kensington Palace, where the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge also live.

But there’s little evidence to support the claims the two women “don’t get on”, royal biographer Duncan Larcombe tells Yahoo UK.

“It would be a real shame to Harry and William if their wives don’t get on, but it’s quite a big leap of speculation,” says Duncan.

“There is no particular incident or occasion where they didn’t get on,” he says. “It is a very broad claim to be making, and is likely just gossip from palace staff.”
