Smell of cannabis coming from car was so strong police pulled driver over

A man has been arrested on suspicion of money laundering and drug offences after an officer smelled cannabis coming from a vehicle. The incident happened over the weekend in Pwllheli, in Gwynedd.

A North Wales Police Roads Policing Unit statement said: "A 39-year-old man from Forest Green in London was arrested in Pwllheli over the weekend after an officer, who was on patrol in the area, noticed the strong smell of cannabis coming from a vehicle.

"The vehicle was stopped and the driver tested positive for cannabis following a roadside test. The officer also found a quantity of what was believed to be Class B drugs and a substantial amount of cash. Get all the latest Gwynedd news by signing up to our newsletter - sent every Tuesday

"Driver arrested on suspicion of drug driving, possession with intent to supply Class B drugs, possession of Class B drugs and money laundering."

The statement added: "The man has since been released under investigation whilst we carry out further enquiries and await the results of further tests, Cash seized."
