Smirking South Yorkshire burglar ransacked home and stole engagement ring
A smirking South Yorkshire burglar who crossed county lines to steal tens of thousands of pounds worth of property has been jailed.
James Chesterton, of East Avenue, Rawmarsh, Rotherham, broke into a house in Matlock, Derbyshire, on March 29 this year and made off with a large quantity of jewellery including an engagement ring, designer accessories, and ornaments.
DerbyshireLive reports that the 32-year-old was charged with burglary and theft and was remanded to appear at Southern Derbyshire Magistrates Court on April 11 and was further remanded into prison custody by the court.

Chesterton, of East Avenue, Rawmarsh, Rotherham, admitted the offence and was sentenced on September 11 at Derby Crown Court.
He was jailed for two years and four months.
