Will Smith had an emotional discussion with wife Jada Pinkett Smith in which he talked about their marriage together.

The Hollywood actor took part in his family's Red Table Talk show on Facebook, opening up to daughter Willow about one particularly rocky patch in their marriage.

"There was a period where mummy woke up and cried 45 days straight," he said. "I started keeping a diary."

While Jada then joked that he "missed some days", Will continued: "It was every morning. I think that's the worst I've ever felt in our marriage. I was failing miserably."

In a preview clip for the discussion, we also see the actor break down in tears, and at one point Will and Jada admit that they no longer call themselves "married", having previously revealed that they see themselves as "life partners".

The Red Table Talk series has seen some frank discussions from the Smith family in the past, including Jada opening up earlier this year about her struggle with hair loss.

Willow has also been frank about her past struggles with self-harm on the show, saying: "I never talk about it because it was such a short weird point in my life. But you have to pull yourself out of it."

In that interview, Jada admitted that she had "no idea" what Willow was going through at the time.
