Will Smith reunited the Fresh Prince of Bel-Air cast on his Snapchat show.

The first part of the reunion aired on Wednesday as part of Will From Home, Smith’s remote programme that aims to entertain viewers during the coronavirus pandemic.

Part two is expected to go live on Friday.

Alfonso Ribeiro (Carlton Banks), Karyn Parsons (Hilary Banks), Daphne Maxwell Reid (Vivian Banks), Joseph Marcell (Geoffrey Butler), DJ Jazzy Jeff (Jazz), and Tatyana Ali (Ashley Banks) all joined Wednesday’s episode via video chat.

The cast began by rejoicing at DJ Jazzy Jeff’s good health. He recently recovered from coronavirus-like symptoms, which he has previously discussed on Smith’s show.

Smith then reminded viewers that September 2020 will mark 30 years since the Fresh Prince pilot first aired.

A clip posted by Snapchat on YouTube features the actor recounting how his character on Fresh Prince turned out to be name just like him.

It was Ribeiro who told Smith he’d be wise to name his character after himself, because – according to Smith himself – Ribeiro predicted the show would have such an impact that people would “call [him] that for the rest of [his] life”.

In another video, DJ Jazzy Jeff reveals he once became “really annoyed” by the number of fans who wanted to reproduce Will and Jazz’s signature handshake on the show.

The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air will be available on HBO Max when it launches in the US on 27 May.
