Smoke Billows Across Los Angeles County During Rapid Spread of North Fire

Fire crews said they had managed to contain at least 50 percent of the North Fire on Thursday, April 29, after the Los Angeles Country Fire Department said it spread rapidly by the end of previous day.

The fire was initially reported at 650 acres at one point but was downgraded, CBSLA reported.

As of Thursday evening, the North Fire had burned 552 acres and was 50% contained, according to CAL Fire.
