Smoke Chokes Bushland Near Bora Ridge Fire in New South Wales

Emergency services battled the out-of-control Myall Creek Road bushfire at Bora Ridge in New South Wales, on November 19.

The “watch and act”-level blaze, which had been burning for weeks and was about 34,000 hectares large, had potential to threaten residents in Tullymorgan, Jacky Bulbin Flat, Bungawalbin, Gibberagee, Whiporie and Myrtle Creek on Thursday, authorities said.

“Fire activity is increasing and properties in the area may come under threat today,” the New South Wales Rural Fire Service said on the Fires Near Me site.

Roads in the area, including Summerland Way, were closed in both directions due to the fire.
