Smoke Reported at Metro Station as Train Line Suspended in Washington DC

Authorities rushed to investigate reports of smoke at the Van Ness-UDC Metro Station in Washington DC on February 26.

Train services were suspended between Friendship Heights and Dupont Circle due to fire department activity at Van Ness, according to Metrorail.

Alice Still filmed video showing passengers quickly stepping off the carriages.

“Loud explosion & red flash followed by smoke on the Red Line just as we were getting to the UDC Van Ness station,” Still wrote in her post.
