Smoke Wall Builds Over Kellys Plains as Fires Burn Across New South Wales

A billowing smoke cloud travelled southwest from Armidale towards Uralla on November 20 as two bushfire burned close to the northern New South Wales towns.

Local property agent Graham MacDougall filmed the scene with his drone.

“It looked more like a wall of fog not smoke. It appeared to be travelling around 20 km per hour,” he told Storyful.

The main street of Armidale was also affected by the smoky conditions on November 20 with landmarks in the main street unrecognisable.

“It was very hard to see and there were a lot of cars driving with their lights on,” MacDougall said.
