Smoke From Woolsey Fire Fills Sky Above Malibu's Zuma Beach

Smoke from the Woolsey Fire filled the skies above Zuma Beach in Malibu, California, on November 11.

According to the Los Angeles Times, the beach had become a refuge of sorts for locals and pets that had fled their homes and were still awaiting news on whether their properties had been damaged by the fire.

The Woolsey Fire, burning in Ventura County, California, had spread to 83,275 acres and was five-percent contained on the evening of November 10, CAL Fire reported.

Around 265,000 residents were evacuated from their homes in Ventura County and Los Angeles County, and 57,000 structures were threatened, officials said. Credit: lauriefrankel via Storyful
