The confined contestants on Big Brother would smoke like chimneys, but is the same true in I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here?

Viewers last night picked up on remarks made by the camp’s new ’emperor’, Noel Edmonds.

Speaking about former EastEnders star Rita Simons, he noted that she ‘always has a ciggy in her mouth’, though that’s perhaps not how she’s been shown on TV thus far.

Eagle-eyed viewers then spotted a brief snippet of footage in which Hollyoaks actor Malique Thompson-Dwyer also appeared to be smoking, although in a slightly covert manner.

It’s certainly not something that’s being broadcast openly, and viewers were quick to comment on it.

As it transpires, there have been a handful of celebrity cigarette smokers on the show, notably Susannah Constantine, Jennie McAlpine and Rita’s fellow Albert Square alumnus Laila Morse.

An insider on the show told the Daily Mirror last year: “They are allowed some cigarettes… Susannah started on e-cig then was on normal ones and there’s a pretty good supply.”

Viewers of this series have found themselves similarly confounded by the camp’s so-called ‘vegans’.

Corrie’s Sair Khan, X Factor star Fleur East and James McVey from The Vamps have all had dispensation from ‘animal related’ Bushtucker Trials because they’re vegans, yet both East and Khan were spotted joining in with both the emu steaks and ‘wallaby wings’.

What gives with that?
