Luke Huntley, an Australian snake catcher, had to be persistent as he attempted to bag a gravid, or pregnant, red-bellied black snake in Cooran, Queensland, recently.
In a post on Facebook from September 8, Huntley said he’d been wanting to catch this particular snake for days, but each time he arrived to do so, the snake had disappeared back into a wall.
“I bloody love red bellies so much. I had such a fantastic time with this one,” he added, before warning residents to look out for snakes in the warm weather.
