The Prime Minister's decision to call a snap General Election will mean partial closures and a full closure of a major leisure centre. Cirencester Leisure Centre will be the control centre for the general election organisation and count.

This will mean a partial closure of the site from Tuesday, June 25. There will be a full closure on Tuesday, July 2, including the car park.

Cotswold District Council’s Chief Executive Officer, Robert Weaver said: “The general election has been called with just six weeks' notice. The Council’s team and Freedom Leisure have been doing a great job of working together to make sure we have the staff and resources needed to deliver the general election at short notice, whilst reducing the disruption to Leisure Centre users as much as possible.

  • Squash courts: 9am Tuesday, July 2 to 10pm Friday, July 5

  • Dance studio: 9am Tuesday, July 2 to 10pm Friday, July 5

  • Whole centre, including car park to be closed on Tuesday, July 2
