Snapchat has just released a dancing hot dog Halloween costume.

It’s an unusual and unexpected move from the photo-sharing app company, which is hoping to capitalise on the popularity of the character.

The only other physical product it sells is a pair of high-tech sunglasses, called Snapchat Spectacles.

The character first emerged as a lively filter on the app, and became extremely popular with users for a brief spell earlier this year.

The costume version is available on Amazon for $79.99 (£60).

Unfortunately for UK consumers, it’s currently only available in the US, and does not ship across the pond.

“Have fun, impress your friends, and achieve your wildest dreams (probably) with the Dancing Hot Dog costume!” reads the product listing.

“Perfect for any dance floor, from flattened cardboard to picnic tables. As the world's first augmented reality superstar, you can now dress up as everyone's favorite all-beef b-boy and have a dance battle with the best of them!”

Snapchat also describes it as a “fresh new flavour”, and says it’s “made of 100% beef, but never starts it”.

It’s designed for people over the age of 14 and under 6'4", and is made up of a hot dog tunic and bright red bottoms.

Other, much cheaper hot dog costumes are available to UK consumers, but they don’t look especially similar to the Snapchat character.
