Last night's Saturday Night Live host Chance the Rapper went in on one of the comic-world's most well-known superheroes as he criticised Batman's "excessive" methods in his war on crime.

Appearing with Leslie Jones starring as his mother, the sketch saw Chance turn up at Bruce Wayne's manor for the "annual Wayne Manor holiday food drive" and turn his attention to Batman's techniques for reducing crime in Gotham.

"You know how Batman is always so tough on crime?" he asked.

"I sure do son," Bruce Wayne (Beck Bennet) replied. "And I'll tell you a little secret, I actually know Batman."

"Okay, then could you tell him to cool it down in our neighbourhood?" Chance quipped back. "Somebody's gotta do something about him. He broke my best friend's jaw in two places and all he did was steal a TV. That's excessive."

The sharp sketch continued as Bruce Wayne tried to defend Batman's use of force by saying the caped crusader fights crime wherever he sees it.

"Well, it just seems like he's in our neighbourhood all the time," replied Chance, backing it up with more stories from more of the locals of petty criminals being left hanging 30 feet in the air from a gargoyle by their underpants.

"It's just weird!" Chance concludes.

Chance the Rapper hosted SNL last night with musical guest Eminem. The sketch show will return after a break for Thanksgiving weekend, with actress Saoirse Ronan hosting on December 2, with U2 performing.
