Saturday Night Live looked to the movies for their latest digs at President Trump's administration.
Last night's (March 4) cold open saw Kate McKinnon reprise her take on Attorney General Jeff Sessions in a genius spoof of Forrest Gump, with McKinnon's Sessions in the Tom Hanks role.
Taking on everything from Trump's speech at Congress ("Folks were thrilled on account of it was real words in a row for a whole hour") to the White House 'couchgate' ("This is my best good friend Kellyanne. She ain't got no legs"), the sketch also delivered this spin on Forrest Gump's classic line: "Life is like a box of chocolates. Sure are a whole lot of brown ones in there."
After being joined briefly by Beck Bennett's Vladimir Putin, SNL guest host Octavia Spencer, as her character Minny from The Help, came to meet McKinnon's Sessions at the bus stop.
"My name's Minny. You don't know me, I'm from a different movie. And I have a pie that I baked, especially for you," she joked, referring to that character's poo-based revenge in the Oscar-winning movie.
It's not the first time SNL has used a movie spoof to mock Trump, as they took on Love Actually's cue cards scene before the election.
But as enjoyable as the Forrest Gump sketch was, it was a sign of things to come with last night's episode as Alec Baldwin's Donald Trump was nowhere to be seen.
We also sadly didn't get another outing of Melissa McCarthy's brilliant take on White House press secretary Sean Spicer, although McKinnon's Kellyanne Conway was seen in the background during the show.
She repeatedly mocked Conway's faux pas with the White House sofa where she was photographed with her feet up on the couch.
Hopefully Baldwin's Trump or McCarthy's Spicer (or both) will return next week when Scarlett Johansson hosts Saturday Night Live.
