New snooker venue offering 'top class facilities' opens in Coventry

A new snooker pool venue has opened in Coventry offering a 'premier experience' for the pub sports community. The Cue Club is now open on Kenpas Highway in Finham where members can access professional snooker facilities in the city.

Owners Adam and Holly wanted to open this venue as there is a lot of talent in Coventry within the pool, snooker, and darts community but 'nowhere with top class facilities'. The Cue Club now allows the talent to have 'somewhere to play'.

The venue includes ten supreme match tables, two high-quality snooker tables, professional-level darts oche's, and poker facilities. It is described as providing 'top-level playing equipment' and a 'welcoming atmosphere' for everyone of all abilities, being the 'perfect destination' for a great game and enjoyable time.

Since opening on June 1, general manager Matt Mcclean says everyone has been 'wowed' and it has been a 'great reception so far': "We didn't want to make the place not just for high-end professionals to play, we also wanted to encourage absolute beginners, so people of all standards are welcome to come.

"We've also tried to make it so it's not so much a man cave, we have an Instagrammable corner with a plush sofa and the club logo foliage, and the ladies' toilet has been spruced up to be quite 'boujee'. We want everyone to feel welcome here," he added.

As well as offering snooker and darts facilities, The Cue Club also offers Sky Sports and TNT sports, where they will be showing all the live action of the Euros this summer: "This will be a good opportunity to see what we can do by showing live sports and hopefully build a following, so more people know about us and sign up more members."

So far, there have been positive reviews online, with a 5-star rating on Google reviews on the 'top quality pool tables' and a 'great atmosphere to play in'.

Wayne Niner said: "What a place! If you like darts, snooker, or pool, this is the place for you. Stunning inside and out with helpful, happy staff an absolute must."

Hayley Bibby agreed and added: "The Cue Club has brought a bit of glamour and class to Coventry. I can have a game or 2 of the pool, a nice cocktail, and some good food. The management is super friendly and welcoming and all the staff are great at what they do and very knowledgeable when it comes to pool, snooker, and darts."

In terms of deals, every Monday to Thursday, guests can play all day from 12-6pm for £25 and then £35 from 6pm until 12am for three hours. The venue will also host two snooker tournaments at the end of the month.

The first tournament will be held on Friday, June 28 at 7pm called the 'Bounty Hunter' where Matt explains that if 'you get picked to play, and if you play and win, you pick the next opponent and the professional who gets chosen gets a bounty on every head'. The winner receives £200, with £100 for runner-up, £60 for third and £40 for fourth.

On Sunday, June 30 at 12:30pm is the Ultimate Pool Masters qualifier for those who want to qualify for the Ultimate Pool Masters in Stoke-on-Trent in July. It is for amateur players only, with double elimination, with first to 8 for the winner side and first to 5 for the losers side, with the winner qualifying for Ultimate Pool Masters.
