Snow Stacks Up in Nevada Ahead of New Storms
Heavy snow persisted in the Lake Tahoe area on Thursday, March 9, with more expected as a new storm approached the area, the National Weather Service (NWS) said.
Millicent Meng said she filmed this footage from her elevation point of 6500 feet in Nevada, on Lake Tahoe’s southeastern shore. An atmospheric river storm began to affect the area on Thursday afternoon, threatening impacts “ranging from heavy high elevation snow, flood potential, and strong winds,” the NWS warned.
Up to 6 feet of snow accumulation was possible in the greater Lake Tahoe Area, the service said. An avalanche warning was in effect for the region. Credit: Millicent Meng via Storyful
