Yahoo News Snow White trailer features first look at brand-new song
Disney has dropped a new Snow White remake trailer, featuring a segment of a brand-new song, 'Waiting on a Wish'.
From the preview of the song that we get, it sounds like one of those 'I Want' power ballads that Disney is so well known for, and it's no surprise that it comes from Benj Pasek and Justin Paul, the EGOT (Emmy Grammy Oscar Tony) winners who did tunes for The Greatest Showman, La La Land, the live-action Aladdin, and Smash.
There are some other big names behind the camera, too, as the film was directed by The Amazing Spider-Man filmmaker Marc Webb and co-written by Barbie director Greta Gerwig and The Girl on the Train scriptwriter Erin Cressida Wilson.

Going back to the trailer, much of it focuses on Gal Gadot's Evil Queen and her initial meeting with Snow White, and her plan to off her out of jealousy. We also get more of a look at the CGI seven dwarves and Snow's woodland friends, and Ansu Kabia's Huntsman.
There's also Andrew Burnap's Jonathan, who is the Prince from the original film but heavily expanded to the point where you could easily refer to him as a new character.
Another big change for the film is the origin of Snow White's name. With Latina actor Rachel Zegler in the role, the character is no longer named for her skin colour.

"It fell back to another version of Snow White that was told in history, where she survived a snowstorm that occurred when she was a baby," Zegler explained previously.
"So the king and queen decided to name her Snow White to remind her of her resilience. One of the core points in our film for any young woman or young person is remembering how strong you actually are."
The Snow White remake will be released in cinemas on March 21, 2025.
