SNP MP Hannah Bardell mocked after filming her hand 'shaking with rage' over PM's response to her question in Brexit debate... as 'her other hand is steady'

A Scottish MP has been mocked online after she filmed her hand "shaking with rage" following Theresa May's response to her question during yesterday's Brexit debate in the Commons.

Hannah Bardell, SNP MP for Livingston, gave an impassioned speech on Monday in which she branded the Prime Minister's move to defer a crunch vote on her proposals for leaving the European Union "a complete Clusterburach" or "shambles".

Following Mrs May's response to her question in the debate, Ms Bardell shared a clip on Twitter that appeared to show her left hand jittering in anger.

She wrote alongside the video: "This is how angry I am..... shaking with rage after an utterly rubbish response from the PM.

"Also because she is putting her self preservation and narrow party unity before the lives and livelihoods of my Livingston Constituents. #ragin #BrexitBourach #BrexitVote."

However Ms Bardell's reaction was met with scepticism on Twitter, with several people questioning how the MP had managed to hold the camera steady to film the clip.

Gary Hynds retweeted the post with the comment: "Yet, your right hand seems fine..."

To which Ms Bardell shot back: "Can you see my right hand?? That's some talent!!"

But Mr Hynds later shared his own version of Ms Bardell's clip, which showed his hand shaking.

He wrote: "Let's all do the SNP..."

Others noted the disparity between the quality of the video and Ms Bardell's emotional reaction.

One woman known as @ConvivialClaire on Twitter replied: "Clearly her right hand wasn't quite as angry as her left hand..."

While another person known as @terribly_nice replied: "You've got an astonishingly steady right hand for filming this. Fair play."

The tweet was widely shared, gaining more than 1,000 comments as people on Twitter replied with memes and gifs suggesting the did not believe the MP.

Ms Bardell also shared a clip of her speech in the Commons on Monday afternoon.

"Here's me raging on behalf of my Livingston constituents, Scotland and anyone in the UK who thinks this is a complete Clusterburach (complete shambles)," she wrote. "I am beyond angry."

The MP asked the PM: "Downing Street and her team have spent the last few days saying the vote was happening.

"How can anybody in this House or indeed anybody in the countries of the UK ever trust a single word that she or her Government speaks ever again?"

Mrs May replied: "This Government was working to ensure that this Parliament.. that we can get over the line for this Parliament a deal that is good for the whole of the United Kingdom."

The Prime Minister had earlier on Monday announced that the crucial Brexit vote, scheduled for Tuesday, would be delayed.

The news was met with howls of condemnation from the opposition as well as a number of Tories.

Mrs May will bring her Brexit deal back to the House of Commons "before January 21", her spokesman announced today.
