Picture an ordinary row of houses on a quiet residential street in Pensby. I bet the last thing you imagine inside one of the modern bungalows is a museum of Coca-Cola collectables.

Pete Daly lives in one of those houses. Behind the brick walls of his bungalow lies a treasure trove of memorabilia.

The 71-year-old said he could buy an Aston Martin if he sold all of his Coca-Cola collectables. He told the ECHO how his interest in the soft drink is something that keeps him “going” in his “old age.”

It was a model truck that he picked up from a showground in 2008 and “shoved” in a bottom drawer that started Pete’s collection off. He learnt after somebody showed him how to work a computer that they sold for £80.

He told the ECHO: “I then paid 50p for a tray at another showground and found it's worth £1,600, that was it then. I started collecting properly from 2010.”

Pete, who recent won on the EuroMillions, has found himself creating a mini Coca-Cola museum inside his Pensby bungalow. He has everything from a postcard collection to boxes, fridge magnets, a flag from NASCAR, books, glasses, toys, you name it he has it.

He said: “I’ve spent a few thousand [pounds] over the years and I’m still collecting. I have a radio in perfect condition with the box that is worth £6,000. I had all of it valued in 2013 when I had around 800 items at £125,000. There are 3,000 items now. I have stuff in cupboards and everything.

“Some of the bottles that I have go for £100 each, people have offered me money for things but I don’t want to sell them. If I sold all this I would be able to buy an Aston Martin.”

Pete says collecting memorabilia makes him “happy.” He said: “The males in our family had heart problems, they died aged 59- 60. I’ve made it to 71, and going round looking at stuff it's an interest that keeps me going. It makes me happy. My favourite piece is the next one.” But the most ironic thing is, Pete doesn’t even drink Coca-Cola.
