Solihull has been a safe haven for the Conservatives in recent years - but the pollsters are predicting some of the bluest of seats may be lost in the 2024 General Election. The Solihull West and Shirley constituency has been created from a boundary change impacting Solihull and Meriden.

Last time round there was a big Tory win in both seats, but that was back when the Conservatives won an 80-seat majority. The landscape is looking very different going into this year.

Rishi Sunak has been coming under pressure from Keir Starmer's Labour. However, a more recent winner in Solihull has been the Liberal Democrats.

The good news for Mr Sunak is Electoral Calculus forecasts a Conservative win this time round. The constituency takes in the wards of Blythe, Lyndon, Olton, St. Alphege, Shirley East, Shirley South and Shirley West.
