Somerset chef to compete on BBC's Great British Menu 2025
A Somerset chef will be competing on the next series of BBC's Great British Menu. Nicholas Balfe, owner and chef director of HOLM, will be competing on the hit BBC Two show which celebrates the UK’s finest chefs and the best of the country’s diverse cuisine.
Known for his passion for hyper seasonal cooking, Nicholas will be competing amongst some of the country’s most talented chefs this year, showcasing the array of British ingredients. Nicholas has built a reputation for creating exceptional dishes that blend British tradition and nostalgia, with modern flair.
With years of experience and a commitment to sourcing the finest local ingredients, he is excited to represent the Southwest and HOLM, bringing his culinary passions to a national audience. During the series, Nicholas will be using ingredients to tell the amazing stories of some of the biggest names in the South West including English fossil hunter Mary Anning and the Mother of Glastonbury Festival, Jean Eavis.
