Somerset House Summer Series announces full line-up of shows including Alison Goldfrapp and Greentea Peng

Somerset House has announced its full line-up for its annual round of summer shows, including Alison Goldfrapp, Beabadoobee and Olivia Dean.

The series of performances, which celebrates a 20 year anniversary, typically features exciting breakthrough talent as well as showcasing more established names. Over the past 20 years, the summer series has featured artists that have gone on to make a huge impact in the industry, including The Prodigy, Amy Winehouse, Jorja Smith, Florence + The Machine, The XX and more.

This year is no different – with the line-up including French rockers La Femme, BRIT-nominated LA group Gabriels, Mercury Award-winning Scottish band Young Fathers and New York rockers Interpol, among many more artists.

The festival has form in showcasing more global sounds, welcoming Nigerian superstar Tems to the stage last year. This year South London-hailed Afrofusion singer Gabzy will be bringing the sound of the continent to Somerset House.

Olivia Dean takes to the stage as one of the breakthrough acts of the festival, following two successful shows at London’s Roundhouse. The singer released her latest single UFO in January this year, in anticipation of her yet-to-be-announced debut album which is expected to be released later in the year.

Young Fathers have already had a busy year so far, releasing their forth studio album Heavy Heavy last month, and announcing multiple festival appearances including Glastonbury, Green Man and Connect Festival.

Beabadoobee also joins the string of shows at Somerset House, following the release of her single Glue Song in February, which has already clocked 34 million streams on Spotify.

Electro-pop legend Alison Goldfrapp also appears in the string of shows after multiple new projects released this year, including singles Digging Deeper with Claptone, Fever with Paul Woolford and So Hard So Hot.

A description of the festival reads: “Somerset House Summer Series with American Express returns in July 2023 with eleven nights of unmissable gigs in the intimate and immersive setting of our spectacular courtyard.

“A staple summer experience, the series presents a trailblazing line-up of breakthrough music artists and established acts from across the globe.”
