A Somerset McDonald's restaurant has reopened with a "fresh new look". The changes are designed to give diners more space to enjoy their meals.

The Portishead Retail Park outlet has redesigned front counter and improved kitchen with a bigger order assembly area and dedicated areas to prepare dine in orders. Break spaces have also been designed to create a more comfortable area for staff.

The "Convenience of the Future" redesign is being rolled out at McDonald's restaurants across the country. The fast food giant says it combines a new restaurant layout with the latest technology "to create a more seamless and enjoyable experience for customers".

Franchise operator Tim Lamb, who owns and operates 13 McDonald’s restaurants in Somerset, said: “I’m proud to reinvest in our Portishead restaurant - especially as McDonald’s celebrates its 50th anniversary in the UK this year! The new look means our dining area is more contemporary, leading to a better experience for everyone.

"It’s exciting to see the fresh new look and feel of our Portishead restaurant and I’m confident the changes will not only benefit our customers but also our fantastic staff."

Local councillor Tim Snaden joined Tim and his team to officially reopen the restaurant.
