Sony's early-August State of Play has given us a look at games still coming to the PS4, including PS5 titles like Godfall.

It kicked off with a slot dedicated to Crash 4: It's About Time, showing off a brand new character Dingodile and a bunch of other new modes to add replay value.

Also announced was the release date for excellent dungeon-crawling co-op game Spelunky 2. We can all get our hands on it on PS4 consoles Tuesday, September 15, with online play and a massively expanded story mode from the first one.

Remedy Entertainment's bizarre game Control is getting more DLC soon, which seems to be linked to one of the studio's other games: Alan Wake. This suggests that it's all set in the same expanded universe.

Gearbox's upcoming hack-and-slash game Godfall ended the broadcast with an in-depth look at the combat we'll experience when the game launches on PS4 and PS5 consoles.

Here's a rundown of everything announced:

Crash 4: It's About Time

We got a look at some levels, more platforming, unlockable cosmetics and the brand-new character Dingodile, who is part dingo part crocodile.

Crash Bandicoot 4: It's About Time will be released Friday, October 2.

Hitman 3 VR

Hitman is coming to VR to give you full Agent 47 immersion as you strangle people with piano wire and steal their clothes.

Hitman 3 VR launches in January 2021.

Braid anniversary edition

Puzzle platformer Braid is getting an anniversary edition which will feature completely re-drawn art, developer commentary and more new features to celebrate the time-bending puzzle titles.

Braid will be heading to console and PC early next year.

Control's Alan Wake Expansion

We haven't seen Alan Wake since the Xbox 360 days and it's arguably the game which put Remedy Entertainment on the map due to its fun gameplay and powerful story-driven narrative.

It looks like Alan Wake is coming to Control in some capacity, as we catch a glimpse of him towards the end of the video. In the trailer, we also hear his iconic line of staying in the light, which is referencing the gameplay mechanics of the original game from 2010.

Control AWE expansion will launch on PS4 Thursday, August 27.

Spelunky 2

After first being announced in 2018, Spelunky 2 finally has a release date for PS4.

Dungeon crawl with all your best friends and betray them for riches and for the sake of progress - Spelunky has some of the funniest and challenging gameplay in recent memory.

Spelunky 2 will be available on PS4 on Tuesday, September 15.

Auto chess

A brand new chess battler strategic competitive game from the original creators of a 2019 mod.

Temtem

Temtem looks to be Sony's answer to Pokémon which sees you collect creatures called Temtem and battle other Temtem tamers (definitely not trainers).

This is an MMO coming to PS5 in 2021, with no fixed release date. Either way, you can customise your character, join a friend's game to explore the world together and soak in the beautifully cartoonish surroundings.

Temtem is coming to PS5 in 2021.

Hood: Outlaws and Legends

Yet another medieval-looking gory game which seems to forget that swords, typically, come with scabbards instead of floating on your back or side.

This gripe aside, the premise actually sounds really interesting. Two teams of players will be pit against each other trying to steal treasure from an oppressive authority.

It also looks like you've have to watch out for AI-controlled guards who will also try and stop you.

The Pedestrian

Pedestrian looks like it's mixing point-and-click adventures with a puzzle-solving game by interacting with the overall map to make a path for your character.

The Pedestrian is coming to PS4 January 2021, developed by Skookum Arts.

Godfall

Godfall, a looter-slasher action game is a brand new fantasy IP coming to PS5 this holiday.

It might be a melee version of Borderlands to an extent, as you'll hack and slash your way through enemies to get the best stuff and challenge a god for supremacy.

It seems likely this is going to be a PS5 launch title, but it is also coming to PC.

Vader Immortal: A Star Wars VR Series

This Star Wars VR game puts you in the shoes of a pilot who happens to uncover their force powers after a confrontation with Darth Vader.

Vader VR is coming to PlayStation VR Tuesday, August 25.

Aeon Must Die

Aeon Must Die certainly has some extremely slick animations, but there's already a lot of controversy surrounding the game if this tweet about the devs quitting over crunch time is to be believed.

The Pathless

From the creators of ABZÛ, a stunningly beautiful and serene game of underwater exploration, comes The Pathless.

This is a mythic adventure game about an archer and an eagle in a vast forest and it looks to have similarly spell-binding environments and animations.

The Pathless is coming soon to PS5.

Genshin Impact

Open-world action RPG Genshin Impact officially comes to PlayStation 4 in Fall 2020.

If anything, it looks incredibly over the top and anime when it comes to combat.

Genshin Impact is coming to PS4 in autumn 2020.

ANNO: Mutationem

An action-adventure game with RPG elements set in a cyberpunk world, featuring a unique mix of pixelated 2D & 3D graphic style.

ANNO: Mutationem is coming to PS4 in December.

Bugsnax

From the minds behind Octodad: Dadliest Catch, a completely bizarre and hilarious game where you play as an octopus dad, comes Bugsnax.

This is an adventure game coming to PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4 holiday 2020 and it certainly looks just as whimsical and, we hope, as irreverent as Octodad is.
