Sophia Bush is leaving her role as Detective Erin Lindsay on Chicago PD after four years on the show.

Last week's season finale saw Erin about to accept a job with the FBI in New York City and while NBC has renewed the police procedural drama for a fifth season, it looks like Sophia may only be back in a guest star role to wrap up her character's storylines (via Deadline).

Sophia has been with the show since the first season and has appeared in several other shows within the shared universe during her time on the series, including Chicago Med, Chicago Fire, Chicago Justice and Law & Order: SVU.

Before landing a regular gig on Chicago PD, Sophia was best known for her role as Brooke Davis on One Tree Hill from 2003 to 2012.

Chicago PD, Chicago Fire and Chicago Med were all renewed by NBC earlier this month, while Law and Order: Special Victims Unit will be back for an incredible 19th season later this year too.

The news wasn't as good for mega-producer Dick Wolf's Chicago Justice series though, as NBC confirmed it would be cancelled after just one season of 13 episodes earlier this week.

Dick Wolf began his shared TV universe back in 1990 with the premiere of the original Law & Order. The last remaining remnant of the Law & Order franchise - Special Victims Unit - has aired since 1999.

Earlier this month, the Peacock Network gave the nod for a second season of its Taken TV spin-off while cancelling the DC Comics half-hour sitcom Powerless.
