The actresses, who play on-screen sisters Sansa and Arya Stark, have got identical inkings on their inner arm displaying the date when they learned they had been cast in the fantasy HBO series.

Speaking on the red carpet, Sophie revealed to E! News she opted to go under the needle when she saw her good pal had taken the plunge and added: “She’s one of my best friends in the whole world. We got matching tattoos. That’s the date that we both heard that we got ‘Game of Thrones’ on…I got it the other day. [It’s] still a bit crusty.”

The 20-year-old beauty added: “We always kind of said we want matching [tattoos].”

“The date was always really significant…and then with ‘Thrones’ we were always planning from season one, like if we make it all the way through, hopefully we could all get a matching thing.”

Game of Thrones characters tend to unexpectedly meet a grisly end, and Sophie and Arya didn’t want to take any chances.

Sophie added: “We don’t know if we’re going to make it so Maisie and I were like, ‘Let’s get these ones before anyone kills us!'”
