South Lake Tahoe Residents Celebrate Crews Battling Caldor Fire at 'Daily Gathering'

Residents of South Lake Tahoe, California, applauded the firefighters battling the 219,267-acre Caldor Fire, as containment of the blaze increased to 70 percent as of September 15, according to officials.

On Wednesday morning, more evacuation orders in El Dorado County were downgraded into warnings, Cal Fire announced.

This footage filmed by Ryan White on Tuesday shows a crowd gathered in the repopulated city to express their gratitude for the fire crews who continue to work on the wildfire.

“Really cool moment today when some firefighters got out to thank the crowd for thanking them,” White wrote in a tweet. “This daily gathering on Ski Run is pretty neat.” Credit: Ryan White via Storyful
