Southend Pier's walkway has been shut as it is "unsafe" amid icy conditions.
The train service at the popular attraction remains in operation as the walkway has been closed this morning due to icy conditions.
It is unknown when the walkway will be reopened to the public, as bosses say it will remain closed until it is "safe".
A spokesman said: "Due to icy conditions, the pier walkway is currently closed. The train service remains in operation.
"The walkway will be reopened to the public once it is safe to do so.
"We apologise for any inconvenience caused."
A "lengthy cold spell" has begun in Essex with the county council's traffic control warning residents to drive according to the conditions as there may be "icy patches on minor or untreated roads".
Essex Weather has revealed snow showers are expected to hit the county on Sunday.
