Southside neighbourhood to host new month long celebration with petting zoo and farmers market

This summer, a southside neighbourhood is set to host a month-long celebration with lots of exciting events lined up.

Running from August 3 to August 31, the Cathcart and District Community Council is hosting its first-ever summer festival event.

According to the Facebook event page, this will include fun family-friendly events including a petting zoo, a farmer's market, a summer fete and even a petting zoo.

Taking to Facebook, the organisers wrote: "In celebration of the amazing community we live in, we’re launching the first-ever Cathcart and District Community Council summer festival! We have lots of exciting events lined up: keep an eye on our Facebook page for the very latest details."

They confirmed that they'll be updating their events list with each one that's added for the festival.

They added: "Running throughout August, there will be markets, quiz nights, live music and more: plus our summer fete will return, with facepainting, book swap and the all-important petting zoo!"

Taking part are venues like the Couper Library, Holmwood House, Linn Park Equestrian Centre and the Old Smiddy Pub.
