'This is the trip from hell!' Dramatic passenger video captures Boeing 737's crash landing at NY airport

The Southwest Airline flight's landing gear failed as it touched down at LaGuardia Airport on July 22

WARNING: VIDEO CONTAINS BAD LANGUAGE

A passenger video has emerged which shows the dramatic landing of a Southwest Airlines flight in New York.

The Boeing 737's landing gear failed last week as it touched down at LaGuardia Airport on July 22, causing huge alarm for passengers.

One passenger who filmed the landing captured the huge 'thud' as the plane hit the tarmac.

Seconds later the video goes black and focuses downward to what appear to be the user's legs.

The plane's nose gear had collapsed, with passengers shouting, 'There's smoke in here!' in the aftermath of the landing.

Another passenger exclaims, 'This has been the trip from hell!' as a female voice can be heard telling passengers to remain seated.

Ten passengers were treated for injuries at the scene and six were taken to hospital, according to Thomas Bosco, the New York Port Authority director of aviation.

The flight had been delayed in Nashville, Tenn, before flying to New York, while reports claimed passengers were given an announcement saying 'something was wrong with a tyre'.

The plane's flight data and cockpit voice recorder will be examined by the National Transportation Safety Board.
