Southwest Airlines Traveler Expresses Frustration at Empty Bins in Baggage Claim Amid Flight Cancellations

A California traveler expressed frustration at empty bins circulating in Oakland International Airport’s Southwest Airlines baggage claim, as Southwest canceled dozens of flights out of the airport on the weekend of October 10, local news reported.

The airline apologized for canceling nearly 1,900 flights across the country over the weekend in a memo to their employees, according to a report by USA Today.

“Air traffic control issues and disruptive weather have resulted in a high volume of cancellations throughout the weekend while we work to recover our operation,” Southwest Airlines said on Saturday.
