Spain suspects on CCTV hours before attack

Three suspects shot dead in Spain during a terror attack last week were filmed on a petrol station's CCTV just hours before their deaths.

According to Catalan daily Ara, the suspects visited the same gas station four times on the day of attacks in Barcelona and Cambrils.

The paper reported they were regular clients at the station, near Cambrils, and used to charge their pre-pay cards there.

On the day of the attacks they purchased bread, eggs and lighters, the daily said.

The trio, one of whom wore a Real Madrid shirt, are filmed laughing and joking with each other in the footage.

Hours later they were shot dead by police in the seaside resort of Cambrils.

Earlier, a van had ploughed into tourists and local residents on Barcelona's crowded Las Ramblas boulevard, killing 13 people.

Two others were killed during the driver's getaway and in the separate attack in Cambrils.

A dozen Islamist militants suspected of involvement in the plot were either killed in Cambrils or arrested.
