Spain tells UK tourists 'the only thing' they need to do for peaceful stay

A man who has swapped the UK for Spain has explained how you can remain happy in the European Union holiday hotspot. Spanish experts and expats from the UK, who've quit life in Britain for the European Union, have had their say.

One UK resident who moved to Spain six years ago has shared his advice for anyone thinking of making the move to a new country. @englishjohncostablanca describes his adopted home as a "wonderful place to live" despite rising protests and anger.

John revealed: "I've been living in Spain for over six years and I've learnt, during that time, the only thing you need to do in order to be happy here is just be able to support yourself financially." He added: "Everything else just takes care of itself, at least for me anyway. I mean obviously I used to holiday here, so I had an idea that if I lived here on a permanent basis, and I could afford to do that, then I'd spend my free time doing what I did while I was on holiday.

"Why would I not be happy? That's something to think about." In reply, one viewer wrote back to the clip as it was shared widely and typed: "It was great to chat with you John, and the information you have me has given me a lot to think about.

"Now I feel I can move forward." In response to the clip, a second also replied, writing underneath the clip: "Do you find most clients are retiring out there or coming to look for work?" In reply, John typed back and explained to the respondent that people generally fall into retirement or are business professionals.

Another viewer on TikTok also sent their well wishes to the content creator and wrote: "Lucky. Enjoy it man!"
