Following self-styled Islamic States claim of responsibility, hundreds of members of Barcelona’s Moroccan community paid tribute to the victims. Some carried placards saying “Not in my name” while a banner read “We are Muslims, we are Catalans, we are Spanish. We are suffer the same way” Meanwhile security measures were in place on Sunday ahead of Barcelona’s first match of the season. Players at the Camp Nou stadium held a minute silence for victims. In addition to the 13 deaths in Barcelona one woman died in the second vehicle attack in Cambrils. And the authorities have confirmed that a British-Australian seven-year-old, Julian Cadman was among those killed in Barcelona.
