Spanish soldiers and police officers were applauded as they landed in Madrid on August 27, following evacuation operations from Kabul, Afghanistan.
Almost 200 people were on board the final evacuation flight that arrived at Torrejón de Ardoz air base, local media reported. On board were evacuated Afghans as well as diplomats, police and military, the reports said.
The country’s Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez greeted the arrivals, including 20 members of the National Police and 82 Spanish soldiers, Europa Press said.
