Spanish Woman Fined £570 For Photographing Police Car in Disabled Parking Space

A woman was fined 800 Euros (£570) for uploading a photograph of a police car illegally parked in a disabled bay to Facebook.

The post had been uploaded alongside the following text: ‘Park where you bloody well please and you won’t even be fined.’

It only took the police 48 hours to track down the woman and fine her.

This is the result of a new Spanish gagging law that prevents ‘the unauthorised use of images of police officers that might jeopardise their or their family’s safety or that of protected facilities or police operations’, reports Metro.

Condemned by Amnesty International, the new Citizens Security Law has the scope to fine those guilty from 600 to 30,000 Euros.

A police spokesperson said that the officers had been dealing with a nearby case of vandalism in Alicante, Spain.

The officers in question were reported by Petreraldia.com saying that the woman had attacked their honour.
