Sparks Fly as Car Smashes Into Utility Pole in Los Angeles

A car went crashing into a utility pole and street light along a residential street in the San Pedro neighborhood of Los Angeles on June 27, with the dramatic incident captured on home security camera.

Footage from Christopher Muscarella’s doorbell camera shows the moment an SUV swerved to avoid a car crossing an intersection, before going onto the pavement and smashing into the utility pole.

Moments later, witnesses are seen pulling over and rushing to the aid of the driver as he slowly pulls himself out of the SUV and leaps onto the pavement.

Speaking to Storyful, Muscarella said that he wasn’t aware of the crash until his brother-in-law informed him to check his Ring footage.

“That particular intersection has had some pretty nasty accidents in the past, but this is by far the worst one I’ve seen,” Muscarella said.
