Jess Glynne has told how speaking to musical superstar Ed Sheeran is "like therapy” for her.

The 28-year-old revealed that opening up to the Shape of You singer on the pressures of being in the industry has helped her cope.

Speaking about working on song Thursday with the star, Glynne told the Daily Star: “Me and Ed chatted about the pressure of the industry, how it’s changed our lives and how we deal with things.

“It was interesting talking to another artist who has had uber-success because he’s experienced certain things people outside of the limelight don’t understand.

“So it was good to have the perspective of somebody who gets it. It turned into a bit of therapy session – that’s where the song (Thursday) came from.”

Glynne and Sheeran also recently co-wrote Little Mix’s song Woman Like Me, with the project just one of many collaborations the Happier singer has worked on.

Last month, reports emerged that Sheeran had secretly co-written Westlife’s new single after they revealed they were getting back together.

The Irish band, who are set to make comeback six years after they split, are rumoured to have recruited the Perfect hit maker to help write their first single.

A source told the Sun: “Westlife have really been pulling out all the stops for their big comeback and were desperate to get Ed on board.

“It took quite some time to pull together and has been done totally behind closed doors, but he has finally given them the right record to make it happen.”

The insider added: “Having Ed involved is a huge coup. They think he will give them a contemporary edge for their reunion.

“They have already recorded the song and are delighted with the results.”
