Spencer Matthews 'banned' from reality TV comeback

It’s a bit rich coming from a family who once donned OTT period garb to appear in a Royal version of It’s A Knockout – but some people reckon Her Majesty and the gang have scuppered Spencer Matthews’ chances of making a reality TV comeback.

Of course, its all just hearsay, but with Spencer on the verge of becoming the Duchess of Cambridge’s brother-in-law via brother James’s marriage to Pippa Middleton, you’d imagine the pressure is on to be a bit more careful with his future career choices.

“I feel like he can’t [comeback to Made in Chelsea] because he can’t be in the public eye right now – his family are under immense scrutiny,” explained his MiC co-star Stephanie Pratt.

A Channel 4 spokesperson agreed: “He’s restricted – I don’t know whether he is for our show or not because we haven’t had the discussion. But he is restricted [with what he can do on TV].”

Spencer’s brother James is due to tie the knot with Kate Middleton’s sister Pippa next year following their engagement in July, and some insiders reckon royal feathers have been well and truly ruffled by the thought of a reality TV star in the family.

It’s even been claimed Her Majesty has slapped a ban on Kate Middleton even attending the big day – which would be a double blow, as, er, she’s a massive fan of the show.

“Pippa and Kate used to get together and watch the show. I heard they used to watch it, definitely,” MiC’s Ollie Locke explained.

“Get together and what, watch it in their cashmere tracksuits on a Monday night?” co-star Rosie Fortescue laughed.

The very idea! Kate only watches the telly in her cashmere dressing gown.
