Spencer Matthews Would Love A Second Chance On I’m A Celebrity

Spencer Matthews was involved in somewhat of a scandal last year, being forced to leave the I’m A Celebrity jungle after admitting to taking steroids.

Now, having taken some time out for ‘soul searching’ and travelling to Africa to help build schools, Spencer has revealed that he’d love to be given the chance to try the show again.

Speaking about the scandal on TV for the first time, the former Made In Chelsea star told the Loose Women panel that he wasn’t aware that steroids were illegal in Australia, and that the reason he’d taken them was for ‘vanity’.

He explained: “I was training for a charity boxing match and the guy I was fighting was a lot bigger than me and a lot heavier than me. I realised I had the jungle coming up and it was vanity. I shouldn’t have taken them to Australia.”

He added: “There was no-one more disappointed than me. I made a very stupid mistake and it’s my own fault. ITV did what they had to do and unfortunately I found myself on a plane home.

“I felt deeply embarrassed, and I really hope one day to get another shot at it.”

Spencer later said: “I would love to do it again. ITV are a class act, I have so much respect for them, they dealt with things so well.

“When I came back, obviously I had to face the music pretty hard and as a result of that, I ended up trying to clear my head and going to Africa. I only expected to go away for the media to blow away. I was doing some work on a building site.”
