SPFL Trust Trophy holders Airdrie will begin the defence of their crown at League One Queen of the South next month.

The draw for the third round of the competition was made this afternoon and the Diamonds were handed a trip to Dumfries.

Airdrie defeated Welsh side The New Saints 2-1 at Falkirk Stadium back in March.

There are a couple of other Lanarkshire sides involved with Hamilton Accies - the 2022/23 champions - also entering at this stage of the tournament, while East Kilbride progressed past East Stirlingshire on penalties last week to qualify.
