The Spice Girls are set to voice an animated movie with each of the leads preaching their own “girl power” messages.

The pop sensations took the charts by storm in the 1990s and are reportedly set to reform to mark their 20th anniversary.

New reports claim Victoria Beckham, Mel B, Mel C, Emma Bunton and Geri Horner have “signed off” on an animated superhero flick featuring the five of them voicing a character.

A source told Variety: “The Spice Girls are thinking big in terms of a franchise on a global scale.

“They’re the most successful girl group on the planet. It’s just what Marvel or Disney needs.”

The insider added that the girls are “fired up” about the alleged project, which would see each of their characters have a “girl power unique to them and reflecting their personality”.

Standard Online has contacted representatives for the group for comment.

Earlier this year, rumours of a Spice Girls reunion circulated after the group held a meeting at Horner’s house to discuss details.

It was claimed at the time that while no new music was on the cards, a talent show type format, a greatest hits CD and an array of endorsement deals were on the table.

Since then, speculation over a possible tour or scattered reunion performance dates have been doing the rounds but nothing has been confirmed.
