Spice Girls tour update: Ginger is back as costume details revealed

The Spice Girls have teased details of the costumes for their Spice World 2019 reunion tour which opens tomorrow night.

The Wannabe singers - minus Posh - are due to open in Dublin on Friday night and Geri Horner is officially Ginger Spice again as she unveiled her newly dyed red hair.

Details of the outfits Horner, Emma Bunton, Mel C and Mel B will wear for the shows have been revealed online, with each Spice Girl due to make 5 costume changes each during the show.

Designer Gabriella Slade promised the outfits would reflect the Spice Girls original nineties look, creating, “a sense of 2019 but with a nostalgic blend.”

She described Sporty Spice’s costumes as “Marvel meets Sportswear”, while Baby’s costumes will be “very pink and fluffy” in contrast.

Ginger will be dressed as “regal queen” and Scary’s look will be “tough” with lots of leather, gold and leopard print.

Scary Spice Mel B is undergoing treatment from a painful eye infection and appealed on social media for last minute tips on where she could find a stylish eyepatch.

Thousands of Swarovski crystals have been painstakingly applied by hand to each outfit.

Meanwhile, Horner, 46, has returned to her ginger roots in preparation.

The run up to the Too Much singers tour has been dogged by rumours of problems. Horner and Mel B were reported to have fallen out after Scary Spice claimed the two had slept together during the height of the Spice Girls fame in the nineties. Horner denied the story.

And there was claims that Mel B had gone blind after she was rushed to hospital at the weekend in agony.

But the girls have promised fans the show will go on, with Horner saying: “Our relationship is really good. We’ve all been really positive, so it’s nice. It’s natural. I’m really happy, everyone’s happy.”
