Spider-Man: Homecoming is bringing Batman star Michael Keaton back to the world of superheroes.

So it stands to reason that the movies' star Tom Holland would ask his cast mate for some advice on his planned approach for playing Peter Parker – and it turns out they were definitely on the same page...

"I was explaining to him how I was keen to ground Spider-Man's powers in reality – never to put him in a situation which was too unrealistic," Holland told Digital Spy.

"And he agreed with me and told me that was exactly what he tried to do with his Batman, so when I found out that's what he did, I was very glad with my decisions in my creation of this character."

Holland said that Spider-Man: Homecoming "felt like it was [his] baby", and that by the time it came to shoot the massive Avengers: Infinity War, "it felt like [he'd] had quadruplets". He spent his time on set hanging out with Chris Pratt.

The upcoming Spider-Man film pits Parker – who has just returned from his time away in Captain America: Civil War – against Keaton's villain, the Vulture.

Robert Downey Jr's Iron Man features as a mentor figure, although he worries that Spider-Man is taking on bigger threats than he can handle.

Zendaya, Marisa Tomei, Donald Glover and Jacob Batalon also feature in the movie.

Spider-Man: Homecoming will be released on July 5 in the UK and on July 7 in the US.
