Tom Holland won us all over with his awesome and sometimes comic portrayal of Peter Parker in Spider-Man: Homecoming.

However, a career in comedy probably isn't something he'll be embracing anytime soon.

The actor recalled that he actually once considered taking a leaf out of his stand-up dad Dominic's book and actually thought about giving comedy a go after seemingly nailing a promotional appearance.

"Obviously the movie is something I know every single part of, it's very easy for me to talk about," Holland told The Guardian. "And in these events, everything I say people laugh at because they're there to see you, they're happy to see you. Everything you say is funny.

"I remember coming offstage and [thinking], wow, I am f**king hilarious," he recalled. "I rang Dad up and was like, Dad, listen, I'm doing these shows and I'm killing it. I'm really thinking standup is something I could do."

His dad then asked him to imagine telling a joke to a room where no-one laughs, the star adding: "And I was like, Oh, that doesn't sound like something I want to do…"

But while Tom may be staying clear of following in his dad's footsteps, he's still proven to be pretty hilarious, not least on the internet.

The star recently responded to a Tumblr meme that suggested his facial expression in pretty much every photo ever looked like he had a frog in his mouth.

This is hilarious. I can confirm that the rumours are true 😂😂😂 #spidermanhomecoming

"This is hilarious. I can confirm that the rumours are true 😂😂😂 #spidermanhomecoming," he joked (we hope!) in an Instagram post.

Tom will next be seen as Spidey in Avengers: Infinity War, which is set to be released in the UK on April 27, 2018, and in the US on May 4, 2018.
