Spiders Cling to Railing Above Floodwater in New South Wales

Spiders avoided being flushed away by rising water by clinging to a metal railing in Cranebrook, New South Wales, as flooding hit the area on March 21.

In video captured by TikTok user Shenea Varley, clusters of spiders hang onto a railing as the floodwater threatens to wash them away.

Severe weather warnings and evacuation orders were in place for parts of New South Wales on Monday. The Bureau of Meteorology said the state could see the worst of the flooding event, as two sources of rain were expected to merge. Credit: Shenea Varley via Storyful
