SPOILER ALERT! New photo hints at Coronation Street's dramatic upcoming storylines

If this new picture is anything to go by, it looks like Coronation Street is going to be having one of its more interesting and dramatic summers yet.

The photo hints at three pivotal upcoming storylines with seven of Weatherfield's most loved characters, from surprise pregnancies to trying to get revenge. The characters look as though they are ready to celebrate Valentine's Day, but instead are stood in front of a broken heart spray painted onto the wall behind them.

The photo hints at the future of the show

Taking centre stage, David, played by Jack P. Shepherd, sits holding a wilted rose surrounded by petals, hinting at the reaction to the shocking death of his wife, Kylie. In the upcoming episodes of Coronation Street, David will attempt to exact revenge on Kylie's killer, Clayton, whatever it takes, but will someone stop him from taking the law into his own hands before it's too late?

Meanwhile, Steve McDonald, portrayed by Simon Gregson, finds himself caught between his wife and a one-time fling after discovering he is the father of Leanne's baby following a one night stand. He is then left in a terrible situation when his wife Michelle, Kym Marsh's character, also reveals that she is pregnant, and desperately tries to keep his illegitimate unborn child a secret from her while Michelle celebrates her baby news with Leanne.

David seeks revenge for Kylie's death

At the factory, Eva, played by HELLO! Online blogger Catherine Tyldesley, has been enjoying her relationship while totally unaware that Aidan is having an affair with Maria. But when Maria's friendship with Caz goes downhill, she turns to both Aidan and Eva for help – but will Eva want to be friends if she were to ever find out the truth about Aidan and Maria's fling?

Corrie has already had a dramatic past few weeks, particularly after the death of Kylie, played by Paula Lane. At the time, Paula spoke about leaving the show, saying: "I have made no secret of the fact I never saw myself being in a long-running drama for the rest of my career. "I was only contracted for six months and ended up staying for six years. Six years is a nice amount of time to make an impact, but not be typecast, I was very conscious of that."
